Collaboration and SharingAre key to the success of all our programs
We establish collaborative partnerships with a diverse range of entities, including private and public schools, colleges, museums, libraries, churches, as well as private and government institutions, and other foundations. Our workshops are designed to be flexible and can be conducted either on-site or off-site, with customization to meet specific needs and project requirements. |
New Project Announcement:
Contemporary Holistic Pyramid
We're excited to announce our latest initiative—a groundbreaking project utilizing recycled materials to construct an experimental modular pyramid with a 15' x 15' square base and a height of 26'. This innovative structure will provide a unique holistic experience for up to 20 participants at a time, featuring immersive sound and lighting effects. Fully self-powered by eco-friendly technology, this pyramid is designed to travel, bringing its benefits to underserved rural communities.
Our goal is to make this one-of-a-kind experience accessible to as many people as possible. We've already begun collaborating with several institutions to expand the reach of this project, starting within our own county. Once completed, the pyramid will be open for everyone to visit and experience.
We are excited to announce that, thanks to the valuable partnership from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and 365 Productions, Inc., we, at the foundation grounds have officially started the construction of our new structure! The collection of aluminum cans is already in full swing and will be used to cover the exterior walls, bringing this visionary project to life. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress!

The Saiasi Foundation Receives a Grant to Help With "The Art and STEM By Having Fun” Workshops for the Year!
Latest Collaboration
365 Productions, Inc. our closest partner has successfully repaired, restored and refinished the exterior and undercarriage of the Gilbertown last caboose, and recently, restored all window frames and replaced all windows using impact-resistant polycarbonate board. Now to be followed by interior renovations to be completed in January 2024. This collaborative project is aligned with the foundation's efforts to offer distinctive spaces for workshops and cultural events, particularly for rural unserved and underserved communities. The collaboration with 365 Productions is a source of pride for us as we work together to promote STEAM initiatives.

On January 6, 2024 through the Coastal Alabama Community College, Gilbertown Campus and with the cooperation of the AMA, FAA, and the Saiasi Foundation a drone camera drone kit from scratch with VR capabilities was built for the Upward Bound DOE program students. This is the second workshop and the first of many in 2024.
“Black Belt Community Foundation Helps Us Again”
Thanks to the generous support from the Weyerhaeuser Fund, the Saiasi Foundation has successfully acquired an exceptional 3-in-1 machine manufactured by Snapmaker. This cutting-edge device boasts versatile functionalities, including professional-grade 3D printing, precision laser cutting and engraving, and efficient CNC machining.
The acquisition of the Snapmaker 2.0 marks a significant enhancement to our creative toolkit, providing us with the capability to transform imaginative designs into tangible reality. This state-of-the-art technology empowers us to foster student motivation in innovative ways, bridging the realms of STEM and Art. By offering a platform to physically bring ideas to life, we aim to inspire and prepare students for potential careers in these dynamic fields. The Weyerhaeuser Fund's contribution has played a pivotal role in advancing our mission to nurture creativity and excellence in education.

With the invaluable support extended by the National Defense Industrial Association Gulf Coast (NDIA), and The Choctaw County Parks and Recreation we are currently engaged in developing comprehensive land, air, and sea circuits for educational purposes, specifically designed for learning and training in the operation of radio-controlled photography vehicles. This initiative marks a significant and exciting component of the upcoming workshops that the Saiasi Foundation will be introducing this year, aiming to foster STEM and Art through enjoyable and engaging experiences.
In the early months of 2024, the Saiasi Foundation received a special invitation from the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) to partake in the annual international competition UAVS4STEM. This six-month opportunity is reserved for our Alabama Aeronautical Team (AA-Team), comprised of nine carefully chosen members from students at the South Choctaw Academy and Choctaw County home-schoolers. The team will undergo comprehensive training, including ground school for FAA Part 107 certification, AMA membership, and hands-on experience in building, programming, flying, and executing autonomous missions using a professional UAV, all in adherence to AMA guidelines. Should the team successfully navigate the pre-selection process, they will earn the privilege to compete at the prestigious Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Thanks to the additional funding from The Daniel Foundation of Alabama, the Saiasi Foundation will be incorporating an outdoor workshop building separate from the studios, therefore eliminating the wood particles, dust and other agents produced during the workshops' creative activities. Additionally, the structure will be creating a safer and more secure environment for the participants and for the storage of machinery and flammable items needed to create.
